Obituary for Confederate Soldier Samuel H. Taylor
Reported January 4th 1865 in the Richmond Daily Dispatch
Killed, at Petersburg, [Virginia] on Monday, the 2d instant [of January, 1865], Samuel H. Taylor, Richmond Blues, Forty-sixth Virginia regiment.
His funeral will take place today at 3 o'clock from the First Baptist (Dr. Burrows's) Church. The friends and acquaintances of the deceased are invited to attend. *
[Samuel H. Taylor appears to have been buried in Hollywood Cemetery, one of the main burial grounds of the Confederate States Army in Richmond, Virginia, along with thousands of other Confederate soldiers according to this Find a Grave profile. Whether he has a tombstone or not we do not know.]
